Amy Winehouse released “Tears Dry On Their Own” with her 2007 album Back To Black. Interestingly, the music sampled in the track is that from Marvin Gaye’s 1967 hit “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough”.
"Tears Dry On Their Own" is a song with a relatively fast-paced tempo. As a song about moving past a negative relationship with her head held high, Winehouse keeps the speed upliftingly quick. "Tears Dry On Their Own" never charted on any significant American charts (as most of Winehouse’s tracks can attest to, as well). However, the song utilizes some well-known American Oldies music coupled with contemporary lyrics by Winehouse. Amy Winehouse’s voice, as always, lent to a uniquely out-of-place era-wise aura - a reminder of what music used to sound like.
